Our
Story
In February 2020, Owner/Operator Joell Hill opened the doors to Hey, Soup Sister for the very first time. She had no idea there was about to be a global pandemic, and was eager to start her very own small-business. 6 weeks later, businesses began closing and society became much more isolated. This was a terrible time for small businesses, but fortunately Hey, Soup Sister never had to close its doors. Quickly realizing that soup was the ultimate comfort food, Joell continued to make soups that not only tasted good, but also provided healthy and nutritious meals for her customers.
Fast forward a year and a half- Joell’s daughter, Kahlie, moved to De Pere to help her mom out with the business. Their original goal was to have Kahlie do a bit of marketing and help with occasional day to day tasks. Little did they know, business was about to grow exponentially and would require both of them to maintain daily operations moving forward.
Since then, the duo has continued to serve healthy, delicious, and hearty soups to De Pere. They have been fortunate enough to partner with Make-A-Wish, NEW Community Shelter, Taste of Wisconsin, and many other amazing organizations to serve soup and show love to the community. They have gained an AMAZING customer base (affectionately known as their “soup fam”) and they continue to serve soups on a daily basis. Joell & Kahlie are absolutely ecstatic to be a part of the De Pere community and they are so optimistic about the future of this little shop!
If you haven’t stopped by Hey, Soup Sister yet… You’re missing out! Between the food, light-hearted atmosphere, and amazing customers you will encounter… We can promise you’ll leave with a smile on your face!
